Christopher Allen “Woodie” Wood, age 52, of 297 Ringwood Road, Freeville, NY passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Hospicare Residence. Chris was born Dec. 5, 1957 in Waverly, NY a son of Betty Brown Wood Gee and the late Kenneth Wood. Chris was a member of the Sons of The American Legion, Caroline Drifters and Dusenberry Sportsman’s Club and had been employed until his sickness by Stinky’s Tank Service (Tim Cornelius and family). Chris was an “all time good neighbor” and will be missed.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Gee of Brooktondale, his brothers, Stephen (Katie) Wood of Brooktondale, Michael (Kim Whittaker) Wood of Brooktondale and Keith Wood of Groton; his sisters, Sherrie (Dirk) Saltzgaber of Abilene, TX; step sisters, Rosoline (Larry) Munn of Bradford, PA and Vickie Moore of Colorado; step-brother, Donald (Lois) Gee; nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved and faithful Jack Russell, Daisy Dot. Chris was predeceased by a brother, Lanny K. Wood; his father, Kenneth Wood, his step-father, Donald Gee.
Memorial Information:
A memorial service will be held at 5 PM, Wednesday, March 17th, 2010 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Kinney officiating. Burial will be later in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call Wednesday from 4 to 5 PM prior to the service.
