EARL BARNES, age 87, of Dryden, NY passed away, Sunday, Jan 10, 2010 at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca, NY. Earl was born in Pennsylvania and was retired from Syracuse University. Years ago he helped maintain a golf course in Syracuse. His wife, Laura Poirier Leete Barnes died Feb. 19, 2009. He enjoyed garage sales and tinkering. Earl was a member of the Groton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include his step-son, Gordon (Betty) Leete of Harford, a brother, Kenneth Quail; sisters, Fietta Sare, Pauline Hill and Alda Bulllock; grandchildren, Gordon Leete, Jr., Theresa (Dean) Wolf and Natalie (Floyd) Parker; nieces, nephews and cousins including Lloyd Bailey of Rochester.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Minister Walter Alexander officiating. Burial, delayed until spring, will be in Harford Mills Cemetery.
