Gerry Dans, 71 beloved wife and mother, died Sunday May 23, 2010 at Cayuga Medical Center after a short illness. Gerry, the daughter of Hubert Frady and Alma Wagner was born April 10, 1939 in Cortland Memorial Hospital, Cortland, NY.
Gerry grew up in Groton and graduated from high school in 1958. She married Clayton L. Dans Jr. July 5, 1958 and has lived in Freeville since then in the same house. Gerry cherished her family and home. She was an avid gardener and homemaker. She worked at the Freeville Elementary School as a playground aid for 32 years, retiring at the end of the 2003/04 school year.
Gerry is survived by her husband, sons Stephen (Angie) Dans of the town of Dryden. Jeffrey (Sherry) Dans of Cortland and grandson Tony Dans of Newfield. Her sister Kathy (Dave) Fundis of Cooperstown, and her brother Rob Frady of Conklin. Also several nieces and nephews whom she cared deeply for. She was predeceased by her brother Doug Frady and both of her parents.
