Seymour Turk of Cayuga Heights, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the age of 86.
He is survived by two sisters, numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Seymour and his brother, Dave, who predeceased him owned and operated Turk Bros. in Collegetown for many decades. Their stores were known for the friendship, kindness, advice and laughs that could always be found there. Many Cornell faculty, staff and students from all over the world were touched by Seymour’s ability to listen, understand and remember. A visit to Ithaca in subsequent years always included a visit to the store to connect with old friends who always remembered.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lakeview Cemetery with Rabbi Scott Glass officiating. Donations may be made to the SPCA. Arrangements are by the Bangs Funeral Home.
